Labels Are For Jars was established in 2004 to raise funds to build and operate the Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts. In Lawrence, which is one of the economically poorest cities in the United States, many people are unable to afford nutritious food.

The Cor Unum Meal Center was opened in 2006 as a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility that serves free, restaurant-quality meals 365 days a year to anyone who is hungry. Between 2006 and 2016, more than two million meals were served at Cor Unum. The center currently serves around 225,000 meals a year, staffed by only three employees and around 5,000 volunteers!

With the beginning of the second decade of operations at the Cor Unum Meal Center, our favorite parts of Labels Are For Jars were centralized under the Cor Unum umbrella. Please visit the Cor Unum Meal Center website to learn more about this fantastic project. You will find opportunities to volunteer, to donate, and to become part of the team that successfully defeats hunger in Lawrence, Massachusetts!
